MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (AP) — Police in southwest Ohio say a 19-year-old driver arrested after a crash that killed two people also is suspected in a wreck an hour earlier that didn't involve injuries.

Middletown police allege Alex Powers of Camden sped through an intersection, didn't stop at a traffic signal and struck another car Friday afternoon.

The male driver of the second car was killed, and a female passenger was flown to a hospital, where she died. Police were withholding their names until relatives were notified.

Police say a girl in Powers' vehicle suffered injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

Police say the charges against Powers include aggravated vehicular homicide, fleeing the scene of an accident and operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Jail records listed no attorney for him.
