COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio's unemployment rate was unchanged in March but still is below the national average.

The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services said Friday that the rate for March was 7.1 percent — unchanged from the revised February rate and up slightly from 7 percent the month before.

The state's leaders have said Ohio's economy and its job market are getting stronger, though the process is slow.

The national unemployment rate was 7.6 percent in March.
