AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Police in northeast Ohio say a 21-year-old Akron man has been charged with murder and aggravated robbery in the death of a McDonald's worker who was shot while taking out the trash.
The suspect, Johnnl Lanier Lewis, was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday morning in Akron Municipal Court.
Akron police say tips led them to question and later arrest Lewis in the killing of 28-year-old John Lehman, also of Akron. Court records listed no attorney for Lewis, who was in custody.
Police had said Lehman was confronted by someone and shot several times near the back door of the restaurant on the night of April 6. Lehman died later at a hospital.
