ATHENS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio University says a white powdery substance found in an envelope received by an employee was nothing harmful.
The discovery of the envelope Thursday forced the evacuation of a bank and campus office in Athens, and an employee was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
But OU said Friday an Ohio National Guard weapons of mass destruction team completed an investigation and reported there "were no harmful substances present."
Federal authorities handed the investigation back over to university police, and the bank and offices were reopened Friday.
