COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Do you know a "Golden Buckeye" who
really shines? The Ohio Department of Aging is accepting nominations for
the Ohio Senior Citizens Hall of Fame.
The department says
nominees will be evaluated on the impact of their contributions in such
areas as the arts, business, education, science, health, and community
activism.
Department director Bonnie Burman says the goal is honor
the vital roles played by older Ohioans, while promoting the benefits
of active, productive and purposeful living at all stages of life.
Nominees must be at least 60 years old and are native-born Ohioans or residents who have lived in the
state at least 10 years.
More than 350 older Ohioans have been inducted since 1978.
