NILES, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio prosecutor says a man who fired a shot through his front door and killed a suspected burglar last month won't face charges.
Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins says the actions of Niles resident Roy Hahn were justified when he killed the man with a shot to the chest July 12.
The (Youngstown) Vindicator (http://bit.ly/15OIp33 ) reports that Hahn fired the weapon into his front door after seeing at least two people through the window going from his side door to his front door at 12:30 a.m. Police found evidence that someone tried to pry open Hahn's side door just before the shooting.
Killed was 37-year-old Terry Allen. He was found outside the door wearing latex gloves and holding a crowbar.
