Ohio man sentenced to life in marijuana slaying

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A 19-year-old central Ohio man has been sentenced to life in prison after admitting
that he fired a shotgun into a man’s face during a robbery at a marijuana-growing operation last fall.

A judge in Columbus sentenced Marsean Sowards to life in prison Monday with a chance for parole after 23
years following Sowards’ guilty plea to aggravated murder.
The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/WAId5o ) reports that Sowards and three accomplices were charged in
the slaying of 52-year-old Richard Rundblad, who was shot in his house on Sept. 16. The body was found
after firefighters responded to a fire at the house.
Prosecutors say Sowards shot Rundblad in the face after holding the shotgun on him during a robbery of
his marijuana-growing operation.
