MEDINA, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man accused of killing his on-and-off girlfriend will be extradited to North Carolina to face charges in the case.

Twenty-seven-year-old Nathan Summerfield faces a murder charge in the death of 33-year-old Lynn Jackenheimer of Ashland, Ohio. Her body was found near the Outer Banks of North Carolina in July, weeks after she disappeared while vacationing there with Summerfield and her children.

Summerfield waived his right to an extradition hearing during a brief appearance Friday at Medina County Common Pleas Court. He will now be transferred back to North Carolina, though it's unclear when.

Agents with the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Summerfield at a motel Wednesday in northeast Ohio, ending a monthlong nationwide manhunt.
