DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A prosecutor says a man who fired a gun toward a wall in a home in an argument and hit his son's girlfriend has been charged with reckless homicide.
The Montgomery County prosecutor says a grand jury on Friday indicted 70-year-old Ira Perkins, of West Carrollton, in the death of 25-year-old Brittany Geiger.
West Carrollton police say Perkins fired the gun May 3 during an argument with his son at the home they shared. The slug went through a stairwell wall before hitting Geiger, who was on the stairs on the other side of the wall.
Court records do not list an attorney for Perkins. He was in jail Friday with bail set at $100,000.
Perkins is scheduled to be arraigned in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday.
