Ohio educator to lead Nebraska medical school

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The chancellor of the medical college atthe University of Toledo has been named
to lead the University ofNebraska Medical Center.The selection of Dr. Jeffrey Gold was announced Wednesday
by the president of the University of Nebraska system, James Milliken.Gold’s selection faces a vote Friday
by the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.Goldwould be replacing Dr. Harold Mauer, who announced in
September that hewould be leaving the chancellor’s post to raise money for UNMC’s cancercenter.Gold’s
