DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) — A Columbus-area doctor has been
sentenced to 15 days in jail and 400 hours of community service for
driving drunk and hitting a cyclist on a road in 2012.
The Columbus Dispatch (http://bit.ly/QaTeao )
reports that 39-year-old Elizabeth Unk was sentenced Monday after
pleading guilty last month to drunken driving and felony vehicular
assault.
Police say she hit a cyclist riding on Route 23 in Delaware in September 2012, seriously injuring the
man.
The
State Medical Board suspended Unk’s medical license in December as part
of an agreement that will allow her to get it back after completing an
alcohol-rehabilitation program. Her driver’s license was also suspended
for two years. She must attend weekly meetings to address alcohol abuse.
