SANDUSKY, Ohio (AP) — The beginning of Ohio Bike Week has been marred by the death of motorcyclist in a traffic crash.

The State Highway Patrol said 48-year-old Kristina McGraw was killed Monday on the first day of the event in Sandusky. Troopers said she was thrown from her 2003 Harley-Davidson Sportster when a Jeep operated by a 16-year-old driver turned in front of her and she crashed into it.

Ohio Bike Week is one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the Midwest. One of the organizers, Steve Ernst, told the Sandusky Register (http://bit.ly/14rYNRb ) that McGraw's death is a tremendous blow to the local biker community. He said she headed up a last-minute Bike Week fundraiser last weekend to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.

No charges were immediately filed.
