COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — A sheriff says a man has been arrested charges of aggravated murder and felonious assault in a bar shooting in suburban Columbus that left another man dead and a woman hospitalized.

Franklin County Sheriff Zach Scott says Timothy Copley is accused of fatally shooting 42-year-old Eric Stamper at a Franklin Township bar and wounding 46-year-old Nancy Leonard around 1 a.m. Saturday. Stamper died a short time later.

The sheriff says Leonard was in stable condition. Hometowns for Stamper and Leonard weren't immediately available.

Thirty-nine-year-old Copley, of Columbus, was in jail Sunday. Jail officials say no attorney was listed for him

Scott says Copley allegedly left the bar after a violent argument and returned with a handgun and started shooting

The sheriff says Copley was arrested shortly after fleeing on foot.
