Judges dismisses bullying suit against Mentor school

MENTOR, Ohio (AP) — A judge in northeast Ohio has dismissed a lawsuit claiming that officials at a high
school were negligent in allowing bullying that eventually drove a teenage girl to commit suicide.
Sladjana Vidovi’s parents filed the suit in 2010 against administrators at Mentor High School and the
school district east of Cleveland. It claimed they were negligent by failing to properly investigate,
report and respond to the bullying. The 16-year-old girl hanged herself in 2008.
The (Willoughby) News-Herald (http://bit.ly/1isn04J ) reports that Judge Eugene Lucci on Thursday granted
the schools’ motion to dismiss remaining claims against all defendants. A federal judge ruled last year
that the school did not violate the girl’s constitutional rights.
The judge wrote that the school did take steps to address the bullying and help the teen.
