Judge wants charges against her thrown out

CINCINNATI (AP) — An Ohio juvenile court judge accused of misusing county credit cards and backdating
court documents is taking issue with the special prosecutors on the case and wants the charges against
her thrown out.
In a court filing Tuesday in Cincinnati, Juvenile Court Judge Tracie Hunter alleges that Hamilton County
Prosecutor Joe Deters unfairly chose private attorneys who once represented Deters in a criminal
investigation as special prosecutors in her case.
She calls it a conflict of interest and wants the nine criminal charges against her thrown out.
Deters tells The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/S7vVhI ) that Hunter is “desperate.”
Hunter has pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges of tampering with evidence, forgery and theft in
office. Her trial is set for Sept. 8.
