JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) — A southern Indiana man faces preliminary charges after a friend riding with him in a golf cart was ejected from the vehicle and suffered a fatal injury.

Police say Saturday's death of 32-year-old Chad Anderson of Jeffersonville remains under investigation. But The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., reports (http://cjky.it/12vHPUu ) Anderson's friend, fellow Jeffersonville resident Matthew Myers, was being held at the Clark County Jail on a preliminary charge of operating while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury or death.

Jeffersonville police spokesman Det. Todd Hollis says an officer found Anderson lying on the sidewalk and Myers standing beside a nearby golf cart about 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Hollis says Myers told police Anderson was ejected from the cart when during "a hard turn." Police believe Anderson struck his head against a building.
