GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — A Grand Rapids man has been convicted in the fatal battering of his
2-year-daughter.
A Kent County jury found Deshawn Threats guilty Friday of first-degree murder after deliberating for
about four hours.
A
medical examiner found that Zaeyana Driggs-Threats died in August of
blunt force to the abdomen. She also had bruises all over her body.
Defense
attorney Richard Hillary says Threats was targeted by investigators
because of his prior convictions for domestic violence.
Threats faces life in prison with no chance of parole when he’s sentenced July 1.
