FOSTORIA, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 9-year-old boy has been seriously injured after being struck by a pick-up truck in a possible alcohol-related crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Mavin Hamilton darted into the roadway and was hit Thursday evening in Fostoria.

He was taken to Fostoria Hospital and then air lifted to Toledo Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Troopers say alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. They say charges are pending.
