Forest Whitaker addresses Ohio college graduates

OXFORD, Ohio (AP) — Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker
urged graduates of a southwest Ohio university to perform acts of
kindness as they go forward with their lives.
Whitaker was the
keynote speaker at Miami University’s spring commencement ceremony on
Saturday in Oxford. The Dayton Daily News (http://bit.ly/1sHx4IF ) reports that Whitaker told
graduates they potentially could change
the world by simply treating others with compassion. He said at least
one small act of kindness is behind every worthwhile human achievement.
The university awarded more than 4,000 degrees and awarded Whitaker an honorary doctorate degree in fine
arts.
The
actor who won an Academy Award for his performance in the 2006 film
"The Last King of Scotland" told the graduates that education is a
lifelong process. He urged them to always remain curious.
