CINCINNATI (AP) — Federal authorities say a former southwest
Ohio police officer has been arrested in Michigan on child pornography
charges while entering the United States from Canada.
U.S.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations
and U.S. Customs and Border Protection said Tuesday that 61-year-old
Robert Glassmeyer was arrested on a bridge at the port of entry in Port
Huron, Michigan, after returning from Ontario.
Authorities say the
retired Cincinnati police officer was arrested Sunday when a routine
inspection found screenshot images of child pornography on a video
camera in Glassmeyer’s possession. Authorities say he was arrested on
federal charges of possession and transportation of child pornography.
Glassmeyer
is in jail in Detroit pending a detention hearing in federal court
Wednesday. His attorney didn’t immediately return a call for comment
Tuesday.
