Ex-Ohio band director charged in new sex cases

TROY, Ohio (AP) — A former western Ohio band high school
director band convicted last year in a case involving sexual conduct
with female students has been charged on similar counts in another
county.
Miami County Prosecutor Anthony Kendell said Thursday that
John Shook is charged with two counts of sexual battery against two
female students at a Covington high school in 2005. An attorney was not
immediately listed for Shook.
Shook was accused of misconduct with
three students in Logan County. He was convicted of sexual battery,
gross sexual imposition and attempted sexual battery and sentenced to 7
1/2 years in prison.
Shook has been transferred to Miami County’s jail in Troy to await a hearing on the latest charges.
Shook could be sentenced to 10 years if convicted of both new counts.
