Ex-Ohio AG ousted in scandal returns to high court

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Disgraced former Attorney General
Marc Dann is preparing to argue his first case before the Ohio Supreme
Court since he was forced from office amid a sexual harassment scandal,
convicted of an ethics violation and temporarily stripped of his law
license.
The Youngstown-area Democrat appears before the court
Wednesday. He is representing a homeowner sued for foreclosure by Bank
of America.
It’s the type of case Dann relished during his brief
tenure as Ohio’s top lawyer. He resigned under pressure in May 2008
after a spectacular showdown with the state Democratic party, governor
and Legislature over his misdeeds.
Dann told The Associated Press
in an email that he continues to pursue foreclosure, consumer protection
and banking cases in his private practice. He said such issues
shouldn’t get waylaid by politics.
