COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say an 8-year-old boy was shot
in the head while riding in a car in east Columbus, and a man has been
arrested.
Officers said the boy was riding in the back seat of his
uncle’s car when he was shot at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. They couldn’t
say where the shooter was positioned when the shot was fired.
The
boy, who police did not identify, was in critical condition at a
hospital. Three adults and a 6-year-old boy also were in the car but
weren’t hurt.
Police arrested 23-year-old Robert Broom and charged
him with aggravated assault. It wasn’t clear early Friday if he had an
attorney. No other details of the incident were released.
