Driver killed in western Ohio chase/crash

TROY, Ohio (AP) — Western Ohio police say a 20-year-old man has died after a rollover crash as he fled from police.

The Dayton Daily News reports ( ) that the Miami County sheriff's office says a 20-year-old Troy man was killed early Saturday. Darke County Chief Deputy Mark Whittaker says a deputy attempted to stop a red truck at about 2:30 a.m. EST after it swerved off the roadway and then returned to the road.

Police say the truck sped off, going as fast as 100 mph before running off a driveway, hitting a tree and flipping over in Miami County.

The body was taken to the Montgomery County coroner's office, where an autopsy will be performed.
