AKRON, Ohio (AP) — A northeast Ohio woman whose former boyfriend is accused of killing her parents with a
sledgehammer has been sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison on drug charges.
Nineteen-year-old Chelsea Schobert was sentenced Tuesday in Akron after pleading guilty to trafficking
crack cocaine. She is eligible to apply for early release after six months.
The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/1nCN4Ks ) reports her attorney called the sentence a chance at
redemption for Schobert, while also providing punishment for the crime.
Schobert’s parents were fatally beaten in April 2013 at their home in New Franklin. Her former boyfriend,
19-year-old Shawn Eric Ford Jr., is scheduled for trial in September and could be sentenced to the death
penalty if convicted of aggravated murder.
A juvenile also is charged.
