TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Crashes on interstate highways east and north of Columbus caused big delays before both routes were able to reopen.

Interstate 70 east of Columbus and Interstate 71 north of the city were closed for more than an hour late Saturday afternoon when heavy snow and ice moved through the area.

The Ohio Department of Transportation says several accidents shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 71 about 40 miles north of Columbus near Mount Gilead.

Accidents also closed several lanes on Interstate 70 east of Columbus in Licking County near Buckeye Lake.

The State Highway Patrol says no serious injuries have been reported.

Earlier in day, multiple accidents on U.S. 23 in southern Michigan forced the route's northbound lanes to be shut down at the state line just outside Toledo.
