SALIDA, Colo. (AP) — The search for an Ohio man missing in the central Colorado mountains has been suspended after four days of searching turned up no clues.

Sixty-four-year-old Gene George of Bay Village, Ohio, has not been heard from since Sept. 18, when he planned to hike near Mt. Harvard in Colorado's Sawatch Range. His car was found parked and locked at a trailhead.

A U.S. Army National Guard helicopter assisted 45 hikers, four search dogs and two horseback teams searching the area. Chaffee County Undersheriff John Spezze said in a statement Wednesday evening that searchers found no sign of George.

Spezze said pictures of George will be posted at trailheads in the area and distributed to local outdoor sports retailers.
