Century-old headstones vandalized at Ohio cemetery

ZANESVILLE, Ohio (AP) — Vandals damaged close to 100 headstones at an eastern Ohio cemetery this past
week.
Some of the markers were almost 150 years old, dating back to the Civil War era.
City
officials in Zanesville think that more than one person was responsible
for the damage at the Woodlawn Cemetery because of how many headstones
were either knocked over or broken.
Cemetery Superintendent Jeff
Johnson says some of the broken makers might not be fixable. He says it
looks like a tornado went through the cemetery.
The cemetery opened in 1851. Those buried include former Civil War officers and three former congressmen.
