CARDINGTON, Ohio (AP) — A Roman Catholic church in central Ohio was destroyed by a Thanksgiving Day fire.

Authorities in Morrow County northeast of Columbus say Sacred Hearts Church in Cardington was destroyed early Thursday.

According to WCMH television (bit.ly/1eD2UBs), the Mt. Gilead Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire.

No cause was immediately determined.

The church traces its roots to 1868 and its predecessor St. Joseph and St. Matthew parishes.
