EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (AP) — Police say a 2-year-old boy fell
to his death after a window gave way in his family’s 17th-floor
apartment in East Cleveland.
Officers were called to the Crystal
Tower Apartments at about 7:40 p.m. Monday after the child fell. He was
pronounced dead at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital.
Lt.
James Naylor tells The Plain Dealer newspaper in Cleveland
(bit.ly/L58mUm) that the boy was at home with his mother and
grandmother, who didn’t see him fall through the closed window, but
heard it happen. Naylor says windows in the apartment extend to the
floor.
Police say the fall appears accidental. The child was not identified.
