MANSFIELD, Ohio (AP) — Authorities are searching for a man they say escaped from a Mansfield jail.

WBNS-TV reports (bit.ly/167qorM) that authorities say James David Myers left the Mansfield Correctional Institution sometime before Wednesday's 9:00 p.m. head count. It was not clear how he got out.

Myers was sent to the facility in 2010 on kidnapping, rape and aggravated burglary charges.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the police.
