FRANKLIN, Ohio (AP) — Bail has been set at $1 million for two men in southwest Ohio who have been charged with murder after a badly beaten teen was left at a hospital and died from his injuries.
Thirty-nine-year-old Michael Watson and 36-year-old Michael Geldrich were jailed on aggravated murder and aggravated robbery charges.
The Franklin men are scheduled for a Dec. 10 hearing. Court officials said Tuesday that attorneys would be appointed for them.
Franklin Police Chief Russ Whitman says investigators discovered that 16-year-old Dione Payne went to Franklin to sell drugs. Police said he was beaten and robbed at a home about 15 miles south of Dayton.
Police say Payne, of Dayton, was left Sunday at a Middletown hospital and transferred to a Dayton hospital, where he died.
