Winifred J. Messmer, 78, of Weston, passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.
She was born on February 22, 1935 to the late Harley E. and Mary E. (Meeker) Lee. She married Roger E. Messmer on February 20, 1981 and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1989.
She is survived by a son, Steve Breneman of Bloomdale; a daughter, Laura Byers of Fostoria; a step-son, Michael Messmer of Columbus; a step-daughter, Lori Ballinger-Moorehead of Findlay; two brothers, Ronald Lee of Pemberville and Charles Lee of Miami, FL; one sister, Helen King of Bloomdale; and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Robert Lee; and two sisters, Orpha Campbell and Martha Baird.
Winifred worked as an assembler at Allied Automotive in Fostoria.
She was a member of Mt. Zion United Brethren Church.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. Pastor Mark Ralph will officiate and burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Twp.
