Wilma-J-Hopkinson-obit1Wilma J. Hopkinson, age 91, of Bradner, Ohio passed away Thursday (September 26, 2013) at the Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was born on March 7, 1922 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Arthur & Lucy (Shaver) Gossard. Wilma married Harry Hopkinson on November 25, 1945 in Tiffin, Ohio; he passed away on January 30, 2002.
Surviving are Son, Gary (Carolyn) Hopkinson of Walbridge, Ohio; Daughter, Judy (Dan) Roth of Bradner, Ohio; Sister, Juanita Amweg of Kenton, Ohio; Grandchildren, Gary Lee Hopkinson, Cindy McGowan, Michael Hopkinson, Ron Roth, Cody Roth; 13 Great-Grandchildren; & 2 Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur & Lucy; loving husband of 56 years, Harry; Brothers, Dwight, Dwaine, Derwin, & Donald Gossard.
Wilma-J-Hopkinson-obit2Wilma was a 1940 graduate of Kenton High School, and during WWII she was a Rosie where she worked in a factory welding bombs. Later she worked at Bargain City in Bowling Green, Ohio as a Manager for many years, and then retired as a District Supervisor of 4 stores. Wilma attended the Methodist Church in Bradner, she was a part of the Bradner Timeless Treasures, and also in the National Rosie Society.
Friends will be received from 2-4 PM & 6-8 PM on Monday (September 30, 2013) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday (October 1, 2013) at 11 AM with Pastor Joseph Reidling officiating. Burial will be in Bradner Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, or Donor's Choice.
