William ‘Lud-Lo’ Coughlin

WALBRIDGE – William J. "Lud-Lo" Coughlin, 79, of Walbridge, died Sunday (May 10, 2009) at
Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
An Air Force veteran, he served during the Korean War.
He worked as a dock engineer for CSX, formerly C&O, Railroad before retiring in 1992 after 31
years of service.
Mr. Coughlin was a member of Walbridge VFW Post No. 9963, where he served as junior auxiliary vice
president. He was former financial secretary for ILA Local 1768 and also a member of American Legion
Post No. 334.
Born Jan. 15, 1930 in Charlestown, Mass., to William J. and Marion (Mulqueeny) Coughlin Sr., he married
Patricia O’Neill. She preceded him in death.
He also was preceded by a son, Michael.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Sharlow, Toledo, and Cathleen Coughlin, of Rudolph; his former wife,
Carol Coughlin; a stepson, Mel Hall, of Charlotte, N.C.; two stepdaughters, Lori Hall, Northwood, and
Julie Warner; a sister, Mary Fitzpatrick, Everett, Mass.; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Walbridge. Pastor Martin
Pennington will officiate. Burial will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 9 p.m., with a VFW service at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the VFW post.
