Warren "Bill" Young, 88, of Napoleon, formerly of McClure, Ohio, died Monday, January 20, 2014
at Spring Meadows Care Center, Holland, Ohio.
He was born November 24, 1925 in Warren, Indiana to the late Hardin and Lila (Lewis) Young. On January 1,
1949, he married Charlene (Inskeep) Young in Fort Wayne, Indiana who were united in marriage for 61
years until her death on May 21, 2010.
He graduated from Converse High School in 1943 where he played basketball and then served briefly in the
U.S. Navy Reserves. He worked for Norfork and Western Railroad as an operator and clerk for 21 years, he
then worked for a short time at Foster’s Canning. He was employed at Temcole Radish Factory for 20
years. Then in his later years he worked for Frisch’s Big Boy in Napoleon for another 15 years.
He was a member of McClure United Methodist Church.
Bill was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and loved country music and Hershey bars. He will be remembered as a
devoted husband and hardworking family man that enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Richard (Ronda) Young of Bowling Green, Ohio, Michael (Lonna) Young of
Maumee, Ohio, Linda (Robert) Sheppard of Defiance, Ohio, David (Sharon) Young of Maumee, Ohio, and Lisa
(Jim) Gleason of Holland, Ohio; 18 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Keith Young of
Indianapolis, IN, and Eugene Young of Plainfield, IN.
He was preceded in death by son, Ted Young; brothers, Newell, Herbert, and Floyd Young.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, McClure, with Pastor Boyd
Shugert officiating.
Interment will follow at the Hockman Cemetery in McClure, Ohio.
Visitation will be at Rodenberger Funeral Home in McClure on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the McClure United Methodist Church or charity of
donor’s choice.
