Norwalk, Ohio – Viertelle E. "Pete" Haley, 82, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, June
25, 2014 in his home.
He was born August 29, 1931 in Milton Center, Ohio to the late Victor Haley and Violet L. (Smith) Hoffman
and came to Norwalk, Ohio in 1992 from Greenwich, Ohio.
Pete was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was a former Vice President of the Church Council.

He retired from General Motors in Mansfield, Ohio in 1992 with 35 years of service. Pete was also the
founder of Haley Builders, and was a farmer.
He was a member of Eagles Aerie #711, Norwalk, Ohio, U.A.W. Local #549 of Mansfield, Ohio, and was a
former charter member of the Willard Moose Lodge.
Pete enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and
great-grandfather.
Pete is survived by his wife of 63 years, Velda (Tanner) Haley of Norwalk, Ohio; by his daughters, JaNene
L. (Glenn) Risner of Norwalk, Ohio, Cynthia (Gary) Haley-Frisinger of Delta, Ohio, and Miriam Miller of
Willard, Ohio; by his grandchildren, Edmond Boone and Heather Miller-Smith; by his great-grandchildren,
Lilly Pizzuti, and Bentley Miller. He is also survived by his sisters, Darlene Dimke of North Shores,
Michigan, and Sharon Milligan of Bowling Green, Ohio.
Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Norman V. Haley in 1979.
Friends may call on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main
Street, Norwalk, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Trinity Lutheran Church, 121 Broad Street,
Monroeville, Ohio. Rev. Amy Little will officiate.
Interment will be in Ninevah Cemetery, Greenwich Township, Ohio.
