Verna Marie (Brossia) Bostdorf, 94, of Perrysburg, Ohio, died Friday, February 21, 2014, at The Manor of
Perrysburg.
She was born in Perrysburg on August 7, 1919 to Oliver D. and Elizabeth (Swartzwalter) Brossia.
Verna worked as a cook at Tiedtke’s Deli and prior to she drove a fork lift at the Ordnance.
She married her sweetheart, the late George T. Bostdorf on September 6, 1941 and spent 51 wonderful years
together.
She was a devoted member of Zoar Lutheran Church and was active in their Young at Hearts program.
Verna is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" Bostdorf; grandchildren, Jenny (Chuck) Bear, Brian
(Emily) Bostdorf and Robert Bostdorf Jr.; great-grandchildren, Ben and Will Hepner; brother-in-law,
Arthur LaLonde.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Clarence (Margaret) and Junior
"Oliver" (Lucille) Brossia; sisters, Betty Jane (Bernard) Whitman and Marian LaLonde.
Friends may be received at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E.S. Boundary St., Perrysburg
(419-874-3133) on Sunday, March 2, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 3 at 11 a.m. in Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave.,
Perrysburg.
Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Cemetery.
