Stacey Mathey Osborn passed away on Monday afternoon, November 25, surrounded by her family.Stacey
received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Bowling Green State University where she was later
employed as an instructor in the English department of the College of Arts and Sciences.She specialized in
children’s literature.During academic year 2007-2008, she was the College of Education’s Instructor of the
Year.Stacey was Assistant to the Director for two nationally acclaimed arts organizations: Arts Unlimited (a
Lincoln Center affiliate) and Ohio Wolf Trap Early Learning through the Arts.Stacey also designed and led
performance and visual arts-based graduate seminars in curriculum design and pedagogy for pre-K through
12th-grade teachers.She co-developed and piloted a highly successful first year learning community program
at BGSU.Stacey is survived by her mother and father, Ethel and Richard Mathey, brothers Stephen (Dawn)
Mathey, Portage, Shawn (Sujin Lee) Mathey, Bowling Green, sister Suzanne (Darrell) Rawlings, Richmond,
Indiana, nephews Jesse and Jared Mathey, John and Michael Rawlings, and nieces Hannah and Sarah Mathey.The
family would like to extend their appreciation to Northwest Ohio Hospice and all of Stacey’s friends for
their support and concern during her illness. A special thanks to the Bowling Green Congregation of
Jehovah’s Witnesses for their visitations and food offerings.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be
made to the BGSU Alumni Men’s Chorus Society in care of the Bowling Green State University Foundation or the
