Shirley A. Kausch

Shirley A. Kausch, 83, passed away Wednesday, March 5th at Bridge Hospice, Bowling Green, surrounded by
her loving family.
Shirley was born in Milwaukee, WI where she married Don Kausch on August 23rd, 1952. He preceded her in
death.
Surviving are their 4 children: Lisa (Ron) Browne of Mankato, MN, Mark (Carol) Kausch of Troy, MI, Linda
(Mike) Simon of Bowling Green, and Steve (Patti) Kausch of Maumee; and grandchildren: Andy and Matt
Browne, Kevin and Stephanie Kausch, Elizabeth (Rairigh), Christine (Pichardo), and Alex Simon, Kyle,
Ryan, and Sara Kausch; and four great-grandchildren.
After marrying, she spent time with her husband while he served in the U.S. Army (1954-1956) stationed in
Germany. After returning to the U.S., she and Don relocated back to Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Missouri
before finding their permanent home in Bowling Green.
As her husband began his career at BGSU in 1968, she enjoyed raising their children before being employed
as a bank teller with Huntington Bank in Bowling Green.
Shirley was active as a volunteer at Wood County Hospital in the gift shop and delivered Wheeled Meals.
Along with her sewing and knitting hobbies, she enjoyed activities as a Hospital Guild member, her
P.E.O. Chapter, golfing in the Link Lassies golf league, and knitting with the KnitWits.
Shirley was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, while also being a part of the
Presbyterian Women’s group.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family at their summer home in the Irish Hills area of Michigan
and relaxing in the Ft. Myers/Sanibel Island area of Florida during the winter months. Travels to
Europe, the Far East, UK and numerous U.S. locations provided enjoyment during Shirley’s retirement
years. Her passion and never ending source of enjoyment came from her family. The highlight of her
retirement was attending the many activities of her ten grandchildren, and graciously serving her
community.
Friends will be received at Dunn Funeral Home Sunday, March 9th from 1 to 5 p.m.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 10th with visitation one hour prior at First
Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, considerations for memorial contributions are: Wood County Hospital Wheeled Meals
Program, the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, or the First Presbyterian Church of Bowling Green. Condolences
may be sent to the family by visiting www.dunnfuneralhome.com.
