Ruth Ellen Graf, age 93, of Wellington, Ohio, formerly of Wayne, Ohio and Bowling Green, Ohio passed away
on Sunday (July 6, 2014) at Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin, Ohio.
She was born on August 23, 1920 in Prairie Depot, Ohio to the late William and Adella (Morgan) Overmyer.
She married Rev. Adam Graf on June 3, 1947 in New Rochester, Ohio and he passed away on March 8, 1995.

Surviving is son, Stewart (Linda) Graf, Sr.; daughter, Christine (Dennie) May of Sullivan, Ohio; brother,
Joseph Overmyer of Stow, Ohio; sister, Hester Kent of Toledo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 23
great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Keith Graf; daughter, Katherine Graf.
Ruth was a graduate of Montgomery Township High School and then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in
Education from Bowling Green State University. She then taught at various schools including the Wayne
area, Ossineke, Michigan area, Westfield Center area and also the Toledo area.
She was involved in many church groups and committees, genealogy society, Daughters of the American
Revolution and also received the Jefferson Award for community service. She was in a garden club and
loved gardening.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (July 9, 2014) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio,
where a Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (July 10, 2014) with Pastor Dale
Schaefer officiating.
Burial will be in Graham Cemetery near Wayne, Ohio, with a bereavement luncheon immediately following at
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in New Rochester, Ohio.
Memorial donations may be made to the church.
