Ruth Carrie Bockbrader, 89, of North Baltimore, passed away Monday, May 5, 2014 at 8:10 a.m. at the Briar
Hill Health Campus, North Balti-more.
She was born on March 10, 1925, to the late Clifton and Carrie (Burdo) Hahn in Perrysburg, OH. She
married Marion H. Bockbrader on February 16, 1946, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2009.

Ruth is survived by her son, James R. (Carol) Bockbrader of Columbus; daughter, Bonnie Bockbrader of
Bowling Green; half brother, Clifton "Bub" Hahn Jr. of CA; half sister, Jackie Hahn of AK;
four grandchildren: Carrie (Klint) Culp, Jason Bockbrader, Justin (Michelle) Bockbrader, and Caitlin
Bockbrader; and by four great-grandchildren: Ayla Bockbrader, Leila Bockbrader, Jaxson Bockbrader, and
Josephine Culp.
She was also preceded in death by her half sister, Pat.
Ruth was a 1943 graduate of Perrysburg High School.
She worked at Libbey Owens Glass during WWII. After the war she worked as a nurses aide, then at Wood
Lane as a school bus driver and teachers aide, and later was a clerk for Aller Drug Store. She wintered
in Bradenton, FL.
She was a member of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Baltimore and Lutheran Church Women.
She was also a member of the North Baltimore Garden Club and North Baltimore American Legion Auxiliary.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME,
North Baltimore.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church,
North Baltimore, with Pastor Ralph Mineo officiating.
Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park, Perrysburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and or Bridge Home
Health and Hospice.
