Ruth A. Adams, age 84, of Bowling Green, died Friday July 6, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Regency Hospital in Toledo. She was born September 1, 1927 in Findlay to Gerald Routson and.Margaret (Knapp) Putney. On February 20, 1949 she married Richard Charles Adams and he died March 28, 1998. Surviving are two son; Rev. Rick (Teri) Adams of North Baltimore, Scott Adams of Reynoldsburg, OH; and two daughters, Mrs. Robyn (John) Kryling of McComb and Mrs. Amy McGiffin of Bowling Green. There are 11 grandchildren; Philip (Dagmar) Adams, Casey Adams, Faith Adams, Nick (Danielle) Shoop, Adam Shoop, Amanda Shoop, John Osinski, Andrew Cubberley, Matthew Cubberley, Mark McGiffin, Morgan McGiffin; and three step grandchildren; Jason Kryling, Kristen Kryling, and Lauren Kryling; six great-grandchildren, and one stepgreat-grandchild. Also surviving is a brother, Raymond in California. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by a son, Philip Alan Adams.
Mrs. Adams was a 1946 graduate of McComb High School. She worked in sales at the former Patterson's Department Store in Findlay, then she worked as a Retail Manager at Cooks in Bowling Green. Mrs. Adams was a 62-year member of the Oakdale United Methodist Church, and the Gain A Couple Sunday School Class of the Church. She also attended The First United Methodist Church in Bowling Green, and The CedarCreek Church in Perrysburg. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Tri LL Club in Hoytville. She helped her husband on the farm. Mrs. Adams loved her family, and enjoyed her friends, bingo, crafts, sewing, baking, gardening and canning. Visitation will be on Monday July 9, 2012 6-8 p.m. at the HARTLEY FUNERAL HOME in McComb. The funeral service will be on Tuesday July 10, 2012 10 a.m. at the funeral home with her son, the Rev. Rick Adams officiating. Internment will be in McComb Union Cemetery.
