Robert-Goodman-obitRobert Gordon Goodman Sr., age 76, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away Saturday (May 18, 2013) at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.
He was born on October 16, 1936 in Fostoria, Ohio to the late Roy Francis and Viona Mary (White) Goodman. Bob married Joan Alice Aldrich on September 28, 1956 in Millersville, Ohio, she passed away on March 29, 2012.
Surviving are sons, Robert Gordon Goodman Jr. of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Gregory Joseph (Teri) Goodman of Port Clinton, Ohio, Benjamin Howard (Cindy) Goodman of Fostoria, Ohio; daughters, Beatrice Joan (Larry) Harris of Maumee, Ohio, Cynthia (John) Credell of Las Angeles, California; sisters, Betsy (Jim) Shull of Risingsun, Ohio, Frances (Ed) Nimocks of Bettsville, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special friends Zach (Erika) Bateson of Bowling Green, Ohio.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Viona, and his wife, Joan Alice Goodman.
Bob was a 1956 Graduate of Risingsun High School.
He served his country proudly in the Army National Guard during the Korean War.
Bob worked as a maintenance/laborer at the former Union Carbide in Fostoria.
He was a member of the former Faith Calvary Church in Bradner, where he was the congregation song leader. Bob was a man with many talents; he enjoyed making toys and quilts.
Friends will be received Tuesday (May 21, 2013) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio, where a Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday (May 22, 2013) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wesley Peppers officiating. Military Honors will be performed by the Albert Bowe American Legion Post #338.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
