Robert Bender, 81, of Bowling Green, passed away at 7:15 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Bowling Green.
He was born on March 28, 1932 to the late Vance and Gladys (Smith) Bender in Eagle Township. He married Marlyn J. Martin on November 23, 1951 and she survives.
He is also survived by a son, Dennis (Amy) Bender of Mentor, OH; a sister, Mary Jane Crow of Butler, OH; and a brother-in-law Rolland Bibler of Findlay.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn M. Bibler.
Robert was a 1950 graduate of Cory-Rawson High School. He worked for 37 years as a die maker for Cooper Industrial Products, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Bowling Green.
He enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and working outdoors with his hands.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. in Bishop Cemetery, Eagle Township on Friday, April 12, 2013. Pastor James Stewart will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or the American Diabetes Association.
