Lesher-Ralph-E-obitRalph E. Lesher, 79, passed away at 6:20 p.m. May 2, 2013 at his home in Wapakoneta.
He was born on November 29, 1933, in Lima, to Lloyd E. and Mary L. Roberts Lesher, who have preceded him in death. On October 16, 1970, he married Esther Susannah Boyd Frank, who passed away on September 5, 2005.
He proudly served in the United States Army and then transferred to the U.S. Marine Reserves Tank Corp.
He retired from General Dynamics as a welder. He was a life member of VFW Post 1275, Lima.
Survivors include a brother, LTC. Edward (Sieglinde) Lesher, of Arlington, VA; a cousin, Marilyn Lange, of Pemberville; three step-sons, Thomas (Diane) Frank, of Cridersville, Larry (June) Myers, of Lima, and Randy (Mary) Frank, of Lafayette; two step-daughters, Tami Bruns, of Cridersville, and Sharon (Homer) Shepherd, of Salyersville, KY; 15 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada. Friends may call from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. Monday at Chiles - Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals Hospice or the Humane Society of Auglaize County.
