Patrick J. Mahoney, 87, of Holland, Ohio, passed away Sunday afternoon, January 27, 2013, in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center.
Patrick was born on November 19, 1925, in Brighton, Michigan, to Emmett and Mary Mahoney. He married Emma "Jo" Gladhill on July 30, 1951, and she preceded him in death in August of 2000.
After serving in the Army during World War II, Patrick worked for Chrysler Corporation for 39 years, retiring in September of 1986. He spent his life dedicated to his family and friends. Patrick was not only a gentleman, he was also a gentle man.
Patrick is survived by his son, Michael Mahoney, of Maumee, Ohio; daughter, Kathleen (Randall) King of Maumee, Ohio; grandchildren, Daniel, Merrily (Peter Turnbull), and Lianne King; Conal Mahoney, Owen Gabriel; and great-grandchildren, Tristan, Gabriel, and Connor King.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 1, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lutheran Village at Wolf Creek, Forestview Entrance. The Rev. Dr. Bryan King will officiate. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that those who wish give tributes to the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center Foundation.
