Patricia (Buckmaster) Knepley, RN, of Napoleon, passed away on July 15, 2013.
She was born June 20, 1933 to Claude and Irene (Durham) Buckmaster. Loving wife of Larry Knepley, they were united in marriage on November 6, 1954.
Patricia is survived by daughters, Mary Lou (Bill) Keedy, Teresa (Doug ) Barchick; sons, Larry (Cindy), David, Michael and Joseph (Amy) Knepley. Grandmother to 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Margaret (Marv) Schroer, Ida Buckmaster and Shirley (Chuck) Higbea; and brothers, Don (Norma) Buckmaster, Earl (Brenda) Buckmaster and Walter (Judy) Buckmaster.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Betty (Austin) Tuttle, Maxine (Ned) Grogg and infant sister Norma Jean; along with brother, Charles.
Patricia attended Napoleon Public School graduating in 1951. She then entered nurses training at Maumee Valley Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. She was the third daughter in her family to attend that nursing school, graduating in 1954. Patricia was awarded the Ann Houck Award for exhibiting the traits most desired in a caring nurse.
Upon receiving her RN degree, she worked at Maumee Valley and Heller Memorial Hospital. After her last child was born she joined Wood County Hospital on the Medical surgery floor and worked a couple of years as an operating room nurse until her retirement in 1995. Unwilling to sit idle she became a private duty nurse for friends and the needy.
Patricia was a very caring person with a soft and tender heart. She loved little children and very old ladies. She had a long prayer list, any person that she thought needed help got it. She worked as an RN helping anyone she could until she was diagnosed with Myasthinia Gravis in 2008.
Visitation for Patricia will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Walker Mortuary, 333 W. Main St., Napoleon, Ohio 43545 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral Services in honor of Patricia will be on Friday, July 19, 2013 starting at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1075 Glenwood Ave, Napoleon, Ohio 43545, with Pastors Marcis and Kramer officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran School.
