Pastor Donald R. Garner, age 65, of Fostoria, died at 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the
OSU Medical Center, Columbus.
He married Mary Logsdon on March 4, 1983 and she survives along with their ten children: Daniel Garner,
William Garner, Donald L. Garner, Steven Garner, Donald R. Garner, Jr., Allen Donaldson, Brandon Garner,
Tammy R.
Garner, Emily Garner and Jessica Toll. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, brothers Denis and Allen Garner, sisters Verna Messersmith, Peggy Snyder and Lottie
Cordes.
Donald was affiliated with Alcoholics Anonymous in the early 1980’s. He became involved with Alcoholics
for Christ and co-facilitated a radio program of the same name. He and his wife were the co-directors of
the Findlay City Mission from 1988 to 1994. He and his wife currently Pastor a small church in Cygnet,
Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2012 from 1 to 3
and
5 to 7 p.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore. The funeral service will be held at 11
a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2012 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME with Rev. James St. Clair officiating.
Burial will follow in Knollcrest Cemetery, East of Findlay.
