BrownOOpal A. Brown, 91, of Weston, passed away peacefully at her daughter Linda's home on Sunday, December 6, 2009.
She was born November 16, 1918 in Custar, Ohio, to Orn A. and Zelma (Haley) Richmond. She married Maurice R. Brown on November 14, 1938. They celebrated 54 years of marriage prior to his death on June 19, 1992.
Opal loved to travel and had visited 48 of the 50 states. She found great enjoyment in her flower garden, neighbors and friends, and she was an avid Detroit Tiger fan.
One of Opal's greatest pleasures was spending time with her large family which not only included numerous grandchildren but also a multitude of nieces and nephews. She was a devoted housewife, but worked 10 years for Bowling Green State University in food service.
Surviving are daughters: Colleen (Richard) Perry, Linda (Troy) Smith; son: John (Maggie) Brown, all of Bowling Green. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, five Great-great-grandchildren and an aunt, Dorothy (Haley) Richards.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Ronald; granddaughter, Paula (Perry) Schneider, Great-granddaughter, Stephanie Schneider, sisters, Chlodell, Marjorie and Joyce, brothers, Harold, Virgil and Robert.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the DUNN FUNERAL HOME, 408 W. Wooster St., Bowling Green. Dr. James Stewart will officiate. Burial is in Weston Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.  
Memorial contributions may be given to Bridge Home/Health and Hospice of Findlay, or the Weston Methodist Church.
